- Account information: When you create an account (via Google Sign-In), we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
- User preferences: Products you save, price alerts you set, and searches you perform.
- Communications: Any messages you send us via email or support channels.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: Pages visited, search queries, clicks on product listings, time spent on pages, and navigation paths.
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, device type, screen resolution, and language settings.
- IP address: Used to infer general geographic location (country/region level) and prevent fraud.

Information from third parties:
- Google OAuth: When you sign in with Google, we receive basic profile data as described above. We do not access your Google contacts, Gmail, or other Google services.
- Analytics providers: We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand aggregate usage patterns.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service (product search, comparison, price tracking)
- Send price alert notifications you have requested
- Personalize your experience and remember your saved products
- Understand how users interact with the Service to improve search relevance and product coverage

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for unrelated advertising purposes beyond operating the Service.

- Partner marketplaces: When you click through to a partner site (BackMarket, Amazon Renewed, etc.), that site's privacy policy applies. We may pass anonymized click data to partners for reporting purposes.
- Service providers: We use third-party providers for hosting (AWS/Amplify), analytics (Google Analytics), search infrastructure (Typesense), and authentication (Firebase). These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, we may disclose information to authorities.
- Business transfers: If Dero is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention records).
Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be used to identify you.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

- Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate data

European residents (GDPR): Our legal basis for processing is primarily legitimate interests (improving the Service, fraud prevention) and contract performance (delivering the Service you requested). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
6. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Strictly necessary: Required for authentication, session management, and core Service functionality. Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics: Google Analytics cookies that help us understand usage patterns. You can opt out via your browser settings or the Google opt-out tool.
