Method and limits

The Dero Refurbished Price Index is a weekly index computed from daily snapshots collected since September 16, 2026: for each tracked model we take the median of offers, then the median of those medians. Changes are published only for models with at least 20 offers and moves beyond 2%, to filter out statistical noise. The 7-day change is computed on a constant basket: only the 164 models present at both dates enter the comparison, so catalog growth is not mistaken for a price increase. A monthly index will be published after 30 days of history.

Frequently asked questions about the Dero Refurbished Price Index

What is the Dero Refurbished Price Index?

A weekly index of the refurbished market in the United States, computed by Dero from daily snapshots: the median of prices per model, then the median of those medians. As of October 5, 2026, it covers 224 models and 6184 offers.

Why a weekly index rather than monthly?

The Dero series started on September 16, 2026: history is still too short for a reliable monthly reading. A monthly index will be published after 30 days of history; in the meantime, the weekly reading is bounded to ±2% and 20 minimum offers per model to limit noise.

How are changes computed?

Every day, Dero computes the median of each model's offers (accessories and outlier prices excluded). The 7-day change compares the latest median to the snapshot closest to 7 days earlier.
