For a real Italian espresso, choose a De'Longhi Dedica or Krups with built-in grinder. They offer minimum 15 bar pressure and let you use whole beans for optimal results. If you prefer simplicity, a Nespresso Vertuo makes excellent espressos with capsules.

Nespresso produces a real bold espresso with crema, thanks to high pressure (19 bars). Senseo makes elongated filter coffee, milder and less concentrated (1 bar). For strong, short coffee lovers, Nespresso is superior. For American-style or family coffee, Senseo works better and costs less per cup.

Nespresso: $0.70-0.90/cup (original capsules) or $0.30-0.50 (compatible). Senseo: $0.30-0.40/pod. Whole beans: $0.20-0.30/cup. Over a year (2 coffees/day), the difference can reach $150. A machine with a built-in grinder is more cost-effective long-term.
